Tina & Matt Trash the Dress with their Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Friday, January 1st, 2010

A trashed dress but an intact wedding……

Tina and Matt promised themselves to each other in the ever beautiful Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This wedding was a change of scenery for all those that attended, as Matt is Australian, and his parents travelled from Australia. Tina and Matt’s betrothal was truly meant to be, as their original date was postponed from earlier this year due to the Swine flu scare in May in Mexico. Had their plans been for a couple days later in November, the wedding would have to be postponed again due to Hurricane Ida grazing the Yucatan peninsula the day after their wedding!

Consequently the trash the dress photo session was postponed until after the storm but luckily it didn’t have to be cancelled entirely. Scenery was working in everyones’ favour, as clouds were rolling in and created dramatic skies that made for evocative backgrounds in the photos. Reminiscent of perfume commercials, the so in love couple looked stunning in their dramatic environment.

As a result, these are some of Instant Memories favorite images. Tina and Matt were enjoyable to work with as they were both very open to our suggestions and were willing to try anything! Tina has bought a second dress just for this occasion, and didn’t even bat an eye at our sometimes insane requests

Matt and Tina, we were privileged to be a part of your special celebration, thank you for the larger than life Godiva gift basket (YUM) we’ll see you at your brother’s wedding in Kelowna in 2010 and good luck with the move to Australia!

Claire & Matthew Celebrate in Jasper with their Edmonton Wedding Photographer

Monday, September 7th, 2009

Claire and Matthew looked picture perfect as they tied the knot in Jasper National Park. It was a fun shoot, as all formal portraits were taken within the national park. The rugged landscape juxtaposed the soft romantic feel of the day. To complete the experience, numerous vehicles that drove by honked their horns to wish the newlyweds well.

Having Jasper National Park so close to Hinton made using the national park for photos rather convenient. Claire and Matthew held their reception at the Overlander Lodge in Hinton, where the wedding ceremony was held.

Congratulations Claire and Matthew on a beautiful wedding!

Randy & Christa’s Special Day is Captured With Their Edmonton Wedding Photographer!

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

Randy and Christa chose Jasper, Alberta to hold their wedding rather than their native Fort MacMurray, and their choice paid off. Their nuptials were held at a beautiful outdoor ceremony overlooking Pyramid Lake in Jasper National Park.

Having such a gorgeous landscape as a shooting location, a handsome couple, and a talented photographer certainly makes for stunning photographs. Multiple locations throughout the national park were used, including both the aforementioned Pyramid Lake and the Maligne lookout. Needless to say, Randy and Christa were impressed and happy with their wedding photos!

Instant Memories would like to thank Randy and Christa for the opportunity to work with such an amazing couple on such a special day!

Edmonton Wedding Photographer Photographs Alana and Sean, Sandals Grande Antigua

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

SunsetOf all the most beautiful places on earth, only Sandals Antigua has earned the title of “World’s Most Romantic Resort.” Set on breathtaking Dickenson Bay, the island’s best and most famous beach, this resort truly lives up to its title. Many of the couple’s guests were so impressed with this resort that they ended up booking their next year’s holidays already!

Add Alana, a former model, and her handsome groom, Sean, and you’ve got a photographer’s dream.

SandTheir outdoor wedding ceremony was held in a shaded gazebo and finished just in time before the weather turned on us. It poured heavily for about ten minutes but stopped just as abruptly. Brief showers are very common during Caribbean weddings and if you’re lucky (Alana and Sean were) you can even get a rainbow on your wedding day! which they did ;- )

It was such a pleasure working with you both and congratulations! Kiss
